The researcher will participate in development projects, research and studies related to the planning and operation of electrical systems. This work will have as a central part the expansion of the widely used TIMES model, particularly in aspects that concern the Spanish electricity sector. To do this, knowledge of mathematical optimization and of the electricity sector in general will be useful.
It offers: Full-time annual contract for the development of projects. In addition, training activities may be carried out. This modality allows the researcher in training to establish a very close professional relationship with the institutions and companies with which they collaborate. There will be the possibility of accessing a predoctoral contract to join a doctoral program after the first two years if the performance is adequate. In this case, the researcher-in-training is hired each year for a maximum total period of four additional years. The gross salary for the first year is € 24,410 for 2020. Additionally, the IIT covers 90% of the fees for training activities and will have access to all the services offered by the University (Sports, Cultural Activities, Library , etc.).
Requirements: The candidate must have a master's degree in engineering, physics or mathematics, the knowledge in mathematical optimization being especially interesting. The academic record corresponding to the title provided, as well as knowledge about programming will be assessed.
