Biography:
Ana Megía got her Doctoral Degree in Science and Technology Applied to Industrial Engineering in 2014. She has worked in research centers such as ESS BILBAO (Bilbao, Spain) or the European Organization for Nuclear Research CERN (Geneva, Switzerland). She worked as a professor and researcher at the University of Deusto (Bilbao) and in 2020 she joined ICAI where she teaches subjects such as Physics, Engineering Thermodynamics or Design, Integration and Verification of Machines. She carries out his research work in the area of plasma engineering for ion sources and has participated in various R&D projects with public funding. She maintains several international collaborations and she is a reviewer for different scientific journals.

Production, diagnosis and applications of plasmas. --- Techniques: --- Plasmas for ion sources, cold atmospheric plasma, diagnostic tools with temporal resolution. --- Areas of application: --- Ion sources, particle beam medical therapies, surface cleaning and treatment, disinfection, plasma medicine.

Design and construction of plasma generators, plasma diagnostics for ion sources, construction and commissioning of ion sources.

Design and construction of complex equipment involving high voltage, high vacuum, mechanics and microwave systems. Extensive interdisciplinary technical knowledge. Computer-aided design, simulation, and computer-aided manufacturing. Rapid prototyping and 3D printing tools. Manual and CNC machinery.

Diagnosis and optimization of ion sources, applications of plasmas in medicine and biomedical engineering.
