Biography:
Francisco Javier Herraiz-Martínez received the Engineer and Ph.D. degrees (both First Class Hons.) in Telecommunications from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 2006 and 2010, respectively. During his doctoral stage, he was a visiting researcher at EPFL (Switzerland) and the University of Birmingham (UK). He spent a year with CIMITEC at UAB (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) as a Post-Doctoral Researcher. He was a Visiting Lecturer at Universidad Carlos III between 2012 and 2017. In 2017 he joined ICAI (Engineering School) of Universidad Pontificia Comillas, where currently he is an Associate Professor. His research interests include passive sensors and RFID systems, electromagnetic metamaterials, antennas and microwave circuits. Dr. Herraiz-Martínez received the Best Master Thesis Dissertation Award from COIT/AEIT in 2006. He was a recipient of the Spanish Education Ministry official grant for funding his doctoral research activity.
