Biography:
Leandro was born and raised in Brazil. There he obtained his B.Sc. in Economics, in 2010, from the Federal University of Santa Catarina. After the conclusion of his Bachelor´s degree, he worked for five years in the Brazilian power sector, on finance and regulation of hydropower plants. In 2015 he started the Erasmus Mundus Programme «Joint Master in Economics and Management of Network Industries (EMIN)», from which he obtained the Master in the Electric Power Industry from the University Pontificia Comillas, and the Master in Digital Economics and Network Industries from the University Paris-Sud 11 (France). During the last semester of the programme, Leandro was a visiting researcher at the Florence School of Regulation (Italy), where he wrote his Master´s Thesis on the regulation of meshed offshore transmission grids, under the supervision of Dr Jean-Michel Glachant. Leandro is currently a Research Assistant at the Institute for Research and Technology in the area «Smart and Sustainable Grids». His research focuses on DSO-TSO coordination.
