Biography:
Mohamed Abbas Eltahir Elabbas studied Sustainable Energy Technology master’s program at TU Delft. He did his master thesis on regional electricity market design with a focus on Africa. He graduated with Cum Laude and was nominated for the best graduate student in his program. He has an electrical engineering background and worked for one and half year as a system engineering in his home country Sudan. He worked as an intern with IRENA and specialized in long-term energy modelling and geospatial analysis of renewable energy, focusing on Africa. He is currently a full-time Ph.D. student at the Technology Research Institute (IIT) of Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid carrying on with the same topic of regional electricity market design in Africa.
