Biography:
Marco Galici is a postdoctoral researcher at the Technological Research Institute (IIT) of the School of Engineering (ICAI) at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas. In February 2024, he obtained his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering (Doctor Europaeus) from the University of Cagliari (Italy) with a thesis on the application of local markets for energy transition; he graduated with honors in 2020 from the University of Cagliari. During his doctoral studies, Marco was part of the Electric Power Systems group at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (DIEE) of the University of Cagliari.
His research activity focuses primarily on the decarbonization of the electricity system, electricity markets for the integration of renewable and distributed energy resources in the electricity sector, and the adoption of decentralized technologies such as Distributed Ledger.
