Biography:
Manuel Perez joined IIT in September 2020, where he works as a Research Assistant in the areas of transport modelling, energy systems and energy economics.
He combines the work at IIT with his PhD thesis, which focuses on future mobility trends and the design and evaluation of policies for a sustainable energy transition. Before joining IIT, he obtained both his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering at the University of Seville (Spain), within an international double degree program with the École Centrale de Lyon (France), from which he also obtained the French General Engineering degree.
Areas of interest:
Transport modelling, energy systems and energy economics.
Experience:
His previous professional experience in the transport sector includes an internship within the maintenance team of high-speed railway lines in Lyon (2017), and two consecutive R+D internships (2018, 2019) at the State Key Laboratory (Chengdu, China), where he worked in the project of the Superconductor Magnetic Levitation Train (HTS MagLev).
