Biography:
Paolo Mastropietro is researcher at the Institute for Research in Technology (IIT) of Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid. He is an environmental engineer specialized in energy and sustainability; he received his Master´s Degree in 2009, from the University of Roma Tor Vergata, and his PhD in 2016, from Comillas University, with a thesis on the design of capacity remuneration mechanisms. He worked in the private sector both in Italy and Spain and in 2011 he was selected for the UNV (United Nations Volunteers) Programme and served for one year as Project Officer at the Addis Ababa UNEP (United Nations Environmental Programme) Liaison Office. Paolo joined IIT in September 2012 in the framework of the SETS (Sustainable Energy Technologies and Strategies) Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate. Since then, he has been carrying out consultancy activities in the field of power sector regulation and he contributed to the publication of several scientific papers and project deliverables.
