Biography:
Will Valdez is a biomechanical engineer dedicated to advancing injury biomechanics, with a particular focus on understanding human kinetic responses in car crashes using finite element human body models. His work aims to deepen our understanding of how collisions affect vehicle occupants, ultimately contributing to improved safety standards.
Will worked four years as a forensic expert in biomechanical analysis and accident reconstruction in the United States. He holds a Master’s degree in Bioengineering from UC San Diego, specializing in multi-scale biology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Utah, with a focus on biomechanics.
His diverse research background spans tissue mechanics, cardiac biomechanics, and crash testing with both human volunteers and anthropomorphic test dummies.
In addition, Will is passionate about teaching and communicating complex concepts effectively. He believes in fostering collaborative environments where knowledge and research can thrive.
