IIT's main purpose is to promote research and postgraduate training in different technological fields through participation in research projects. Since the IIT is a non-profit center, its funding comes essentially from contracted projects with companies and therefore respond to a proven social demand. For this, the IIT has a highly qualified team of researchers and professors, consisting of engineers, economists and mathematicians, able to support in different technological areas. The projects are mostly with private companies as well as participation in competitive public calls mainly with the European Commission.
