Summary:
This paper describes a general methodology for bidding in a deregulated generation market. It is discussed the hierarchy of the problems that must be solved and it is presented in detail a method for solving the utility self unit-commintment problem in deregulated systems. Cost recovery is one of the main utilility priorities. The method proposed in this paper considers both the expected energy sales revenue and expected operating cost to determine optimum generation bids. Finally, results of an application example are presented.
