Summary:
This paper describes the multi-agent system DIAMOND of which the objective is the integration of several monitoring and diagnosis systems into a global distributed system. DIAMOND allows for the co-operation among heterogeneous diagnosis systems already existing or newly created. DIAMOND is an ESPRIT project developed as a distributed environment where systems can be integrated for co-operation in the diagnosis of industrial processes. This environment includes mechanisms for the creation of new agents, communication among agents, procedures to solve conflicts in diagnoses that could appear and a global user interface for the whole system. Several industrial applications are being tested inside DIAMOND
