2ª Conferencia de Dispositivos Electrónicos - CDE 1999, Madrid (Spain). 01-02 June 1999
Summary:
A sensor based on NIR laser diodes for transmittance pulse oximetry has been developed and tested. The optical sensor is part of a measurement system which also comprises the sensor electronics, an acquisition board and a personal computer. A calibration curve was derived and healthy volunteers were monitored under normal and apnea conditions. The obtained results demonstrate the feasibility of using a sensor with laser diodes emitting at specific NIR wavelengths for pulse oximetry.
