Resumen:
Within the group of polymer materials, polyolefins are used in a wide range of applications. Despite their excellent bulk properties, low cost and processability, the applications of polyolefins are sometimes restricted by their poor wettability. Mainly, plasma treatments produce cleaning, etching and surface activation due to the introduction of different moieties of polar nature. However, these treatments can degrade the polymer in sometimes, although this degradation does not always occur, it depends of the plasma type. In this work effect of plasma treatments on chamber of low pressure were carried out with argon, air and mix argon air. Atmospheric pressure plasma torch treatments (APPT) were also applied. The main objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of these treatments on the surface energy, adhesion, and thermal properties of the PP.
