Resumen:

The installation and the optimal exploitation of energy storage systems in the distribution networks has recently become a hot topic due to the large diffusion of distributed generation based on renewable energy sources that has concerned this power system level. Several approaches have been tested to optimize sizing and siting of storage in distribution networks and a few papers have also optimized their daily scheduling. In this paper, the Grey Wolf optimization (GWO) algorithm has been applied to the problem of finding the optimal number, rate, location, and scheduling of distributed storage devices in an uncertain planning scenario of distribution systems. The GWO performance has been compared with a Genetic Algorithm optimization model previously developed by the authors.
