IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference - I2MTC 2008, Victoria (Canada). 12-15 May 2008

Summary:

An extended analysis of the sensorless measurement methods adopted for the characterization of soft magnetic materials is here reported. The capability of measuring non symmetric cycles and their accommodation is reported together to a discussion on the main critical aspects and limits of the presented techniques. Key question is if the capabilities of the sensorless method have been fully explored or if such a technique can be extended to the measurement of other phenomena related to the magnetic hysteresis, as the after-effect, as well as adopted for the reconstruction of hysteresis losses associated with open loops.

Keywords: Sensorless methods, asymmetric cycles, accommodation.
